First Documented by: ??? - First Heard: 1970s (No confirmed date of start) - The UVB-76, nicknamed "the Buzzer", is a strange number station broadcasting on 4625 kHz. It has been going since the 1970s, attracting many new Ham Radio enthusiasts. Despite its popularity, the operator of the UVB-76 has never been found nor have they found where its being transmitted from. Also due to its popularity, it is a common target for Radio Pirates to broadcast over. It gets its name from the constant buzzing it emits. Theories suggest that it is a channel marker for the Russian Military.
